#424 United Breaks Guitars

I never heard of this "United Breaks Guitars" song till last Saturday when my buddy Niels Alzen informed me about it. What we have here is a classic example of how internet-power-to-the-people can not only help build a brand, but can also help destroy it.

The story... Country singer Dave Carroll goes on tour in the U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!, flies a United Airlines flight between two places and sees how his $3500 710 Taylor is being thrown around like a bag of potatoes. The guitar ends up broken and when United airlines refuses to pay up, Dave has his revenge the only way he knows how, by writing a youtube sensation called "United Breaks Guitars" that's currently been played over 10.000.000 (10 million) times.
